About Dental Insurance
If you have dental insurance, you will be happy to hear that we work closely with most dental insurance plans to help you utilize your benefits!
Dental insurance can be incredibly complex and it’s common for patients to be unsure about their coverage. Here at Smiles of Groton, we will:
- Verify that your insurance is active
- Submit your insurance claim for you at the time of your dental visit.
- Follow up with your dental insurance company to ensure your claim is processed in a timely manner.
*Please Note: There are many insurance options available and a wide variety of factors can affect your coverage. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you contact your insurance carrier prior to your visit to help answer any questions you may have and to help educate you on your plan provisions, eligible services, and frequencies. A consultation with your carrier about the amount and extent of your coverage will help prevent any confusion, misunderstandings, or frustration about your financial responsibility for certain services.
We are contracted, “in network” providers with the following insurance companies, meaning that we accept their fee schedules.
- Delta Dental Premier Network
- Altus
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Indemnity Plan
An estimate of the amount covered by your insurance company will be provided at the time of your treatment, based on the information they provide to us. The estimate is never a guarantee of benefits or the amount that will be paid. We will file all insurance claims as a courtesy to our patients. This does not however, transfer the responsibility of your financial obligation to the insurance company. If the amount paid by the insurance company is less than or greater than the estimate, then you will be billed the difference or issued a credit on the account in the event of an overpayment. Please let us know if you have questions about our financial policies or financing options prior to your treatment.
